BRUCE B. HOCHMAN

Bruce B. Hochman advises banks, credit unions, businesses, and individuals in matters involving bankruptcy, creditor rights, commercial restructuring, insolvency, receiverships, foreclosure actions, and other financial distress situations. He has represented secured and unsecured creditors before federal bankruptcy courts in Maine, served as special counsel to trustees, and worked with creditor committees in Chapter 11 proceedings. Bruce also brings substantial trial experience in state and federal courts and has represented clients for more than four decades in consumer and commercial litigation, including construction disputes, mechanic’s liens, arbitrations, and contract negotiations.

Bruce is recognized for his steady, knowledgeable approach in high stakes matters where clarity and sound judgment are essential. He has presented creditor rights, collections, foreclosure law, and bankruptcy issues, and is listed in Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers for Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights. Outside the office, Bruce and his wife enjoy time with their grown children and grandchildren, and he’s happiest when he’s outdoors, gardening, making music, alpine skiing, or cooking.

P. Andrew Hamilton

Andrew Hamilton has served for more than 40 years as counsel to municipalities and individual and business clients across Maine, with a practice spanning municipal law, environmental and land use law, regulatory compliance, natural resource permitting, and energy. He provides general counsel advice to several Maine towns and water districts, assisting with governance, planning, and legal matters that affect day-to-day operations. Andrew also plays a key role in community redevelopment efforts, helping towns repurpose former mill sites and support economic development initiatives across the region.

Andrew’s work reflects a long-standing commitment to strengthening Maine communities through steady counsel and practical problem solving. A Bangor resident, he has held leadership roles with organizations including the Bangor Chamber of Commerce, Bangor YMCA, John Bapst Memorial High School, Unity Environmental University, and the Katahdin Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He has served on the Steering and Communities Committees of FOR/Maine and was honored with the Maine Development Foundation’s Rural Economic Development Champion Award in 2021. Andy’s approach is shaped by deep experience, strong relationships, and a focus on helping communities move forward. He and his wife love time with their daughter’s family, including a grandchild, and traveling with family and friends to places that offer incredible outdoor opportunities, such as fly fishing and hiking.

TIMOTHY C. WOODCOCK

Timothy C. Woodcock brings more than 35 years of experience as a trial litigator, representing clients in a wide range of civil matters including constitutional claims, governmental defense, commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes, personal injury matters, and property valuation. He also advises clients on public policy matters before local and state agencies and has worked extensively on regional economic development efforts within Maine and in collaboration with Atlantic Canada. Tim is admitted to practice in Maine and multiple federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

Tim’s career includes significant public service and legislative work. He spent nearly six years on Capitol Hill, serving on the staff of Senator William S. Cohen and playing a key role in the drafting and enactment of federal legislation, including the Maine Indian Claims Settlement Act. He later served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Maine, handling civil matters and prosecuting complex cases. A former Bangor City Councilor and Mayor, Tim remains active in civic and community work and is a current board member and past president of Community Health & Counseling Services.

JONATHAN A. POTTLE

Jonathan A. Pottle advises public and private sector clients across Maine in environmental, land use, municipal, utilities, and natural resources law. His work spans project development and financing, real estate and business transactions, economic development initiatives, permitting and regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. Jon regularly supports municipalities, districts, renewable energy and telecommunications projects, timber and forest products operations, and real estate development clients, including representation before local and state boards, Maine and federal courts, and administrative agencies.

Jon’s practice is grounded in helping clients plan strategically, solve problems early, and navigate complex regulatory terrain with confidence. He holds a J.D. and Master of Studies in Environmental Law Studies from Vermont Law School, along with a degree in Forest Engineering from the University of New Brunswick. Based in Bangor, Jon serves on community and regional boards focused on Maine’s health and sustainable resource use. Jon enjoys hockey and outdoor pursuits including canoeing, skiing, hiking, and mountaineering.

JANNA GAU

Janna Gau brings almost 30 years of experience to representing clients in litigation and administrative proceedings involving constitutional law issues such as 42 U.S.C. § 1983 claims, Title IX, professional licensing and liability, and commercial and financial matters. She has extensive jury trial experience in both state and federal courts, and experience representing clients in arbitration before the American Arbitration Association, and state board matters, and federal agency proceedings.

Janna is known for bringing a thoughtful, strategic approach in assessing clients’ risk and pursuing outcomes that align with her clients’ priorities. Whether she is assisting clients reach an early resolution to a dispute, or preparing for trial, her work reflects commitment to clear communication and strategic advocacy. Janna is admitted to practice in Maine, Oklahoma, and multiple federal jurisdictions.

She currently serves as an officer on the Board of the Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Janna has been a lifelong equestrian with experience riding and competing in show jumping and dressage events. Janna also has a deep connection to the outdoors and enjoys hiking in Maine and remote places around the world.
